Here, crab is king
Crabbing is one of our favorite activities at the Salty Rose. We have all the supplies you coud need to catch and cook crab. Our favorite place for crabbing is the Guemes Island Resort.
Clamming: the eastern section of North Beach tide lands are public and have public access. You’ll get your clamming fill in minutes. Check for red tides etc ahead of time.

Get outside
Bring your sense of adventure! If you can pull yourself off the deck, the below are some oI our favorite on-island activities:
Beach: our beach access point is just up the S Shore Road, about 200m on the way to the ferry. It’s hidden, but there is a path to the beach by the sign for Cayou Creek. Other public beach access points nearby, including Cook’s Cove.
Hiking: Guemes Mountain is just around the bend, 10 minutes walking from the house
Biking: everyone bikes everywhere! Feel free to use the bikes and let us know of any issues.
Kelly’s Point: beautiful beach for sunset. Easily accessible by car and a 5 minute drive from the Salty Rose.
Guemes Island Resort: Great crabbing on this part of the island. Non-guests can use the public beach adjacent to the resort for a beautiful view back towards Chuckanut Drive.
Pickleball and park: there are pickleball and tennis courts on the island at the corner of Eden’s Road and Guemes Island Road
Deception Pass State Park - 30 minutes driving off island. Amazing.
